The Motion Picture Club wants to take this opportunity to thank all who attended, sponsored and supported our “Summer In The City” event in June.  As many of you know, we had to pivot from our standard “Max Fried” charity golf outing for reasons beyond our club’s control.  Thursday, June 8th, 2023 will always be a very proud moment in the storied history of The Motion Picture Club.

Our expectations were surpassed exponentially, and we are so very grateful for the support from all our sponsors, industry friends and colleagues. 

 

We were very fortunate to recognize our co-honorees, Mr. Robert Smerling, President, U.S. Cinemas, Reading International Inc. and Ms. Ellen Cotter, President and CEO, Reading International, Inc.  We felt they were the perfect honorees to be recognized and they didn’t disappoint.  The support that we received from the industry for both Bob and Ellen was overwhelming and The Motion Picture Club will always be grateful to Mr. Smerling and Ms. Cotter for their support. We would also like to acknowledge, Mr. Chris Aronson, President, Domestic Distribution of Paramount Pictures for his contributions and providing some star power to the event.

 

In addition to the gala event, we would like to especially thank Focus Features and the NBC Universal, In-Theatre Marketing team along with The Cinemas 123 by Angelika team for allowing us to screen “Asteroid City”
